Doctor On Demand

As the Director of Product Design, I played a pivotal role in overseeing design and research across iOS, Android, and Web-based products at Doctor On Demand. My responsibilities extended beyond team support to hands-on product design and contributing to marketing, sales, and other company segments. I also led the company-wide rebranding effort, collaborating with design, marketing, engineering, and executive teams.

Highlights and Hypothesis

Doctor On Demand, a leading telemedicine product, focuses on solving healthcare challenges like access, cost, and quality of care. However, a significant problem was getting patients to conduct their first visit due to confusion about the product's functionality, costs, doctors' credentials, and insurance acceptance. Our hypothesis was that personalizing the home screen with relevant information, adopting a new design language for trust-building, and creating a dedicated "Get Care" section would clarify these aspects for users.

One of the larger projects I led involved a comprehensive overhaul of our flagship app, redesigning the entire user experience. This journey was driven by our understanding of users pain points with telemedicine and bringing the relationship with the doctor into focus.

I also led an in house rebranding initiative that involved involved diving deep into the core identity of our company, understanding what sets us apart, and how we could visually and emotionally connect with our audience in a more meaningful way.

Impact and Learning

The redesign and rebranding efforts at Doctor On Demand taught me the importance of holistic design thinking that encompasses not just the product but also the company's overall brand image. By addressing user confusion through personalized, accessible design, we were able to build trust and clarity among users, leading to increased visit volumes and member registration. This experience reinforced the value of collaborative, patient-centered design in effectively solving real-world healthcare problems.
